Ariele, Stonehorse 23, Electroprop Mariner with custom 38 Volt Lithium Battery Bank
Ariele will move at about 1 knot with only 1 amp of power – that’s just 38 watts. This level of power probably sets a record for most efficient drive yet.
Ariele is a Samuel Crocker designed Stonehorse 23. She was built by the Edey and Duff Yard in Maine. She is modeled on the lines of late 19th century work boats. Ariel is a full keel, cutter rigged sloop displacing 4,500 lbs. She is currently berthed on San Francisco Bay in Marin County.
The electrical distribution system was prefabricated outside of the boat on a panel built to fit, then installed in the boat. From left to right – the controller, electrical distribution box, bms control and DC converter.
Ariele is powered by and Electroprop Mariner 5 backed by a 38 volt Lithium Battery Bank custom built by Electroprop.
Ariele is a prime example of how efficient the Electroprop Mariner is. She will move at about 1 knot with only 1 amp of power – that’s just 38 watts. This level of power probably sets a record for most efficient drive yet.
